So Excitied

Well here it is only 6 days until Christmas and I am so excited. I am finally done shopping, have everything wrapped and ready to go now just have to work and then enjoy the two days with family. Jon, Judy and the boys are coming down Christmas eve and we will all go to church together and then have a big meal afterwords. Last year we had game night after we got cleaned up so I am pretty sure that will happen again. It doesn't really what we do just that we are together. Mike, Jane and the kids will come down about noon on Christmas day and then we will all have that day together to open gifts, eat, laugh and enjoy each other. I just love this time of year, it is the only time all of us are together. This year will end on a very high note as we add three very special people to our family on New Years eve day. Jon and Judy will be getting married. We will all be in the cities for that and we are all staying at teh same hotel so that will be a lot of fun also.

The last time I wrote in here we had our first snow well since then we had our first blizzard. We got 20 inches of snow from last Friday night into Sunday morning. Now there is a chance of about 6 more inches tomorrow, I hope it misses us. I love snow but just not all at once.

Well that is about it. Enjoy this time my friends and remember the real meaning we celebrate CHRISTmas!

First Snow

Happy Sunday everyone! Well we finally got our first snowfall! It started Friday night and I woke up Saturday to go to work and there were about 6 inches on the ground! I am so excited! Now it looks like winter and we can really start getting ready for Christmas. I did a little bit more decorating this weekend and also went and helped my mom with her tree. I didn't get my cards done so I will hopefully work on them this week and get them mailed out this coming weekend.

Back to work tomorrow and I just don't want to go. I don't know why just feel a real dread that I usually don't feel. I am hoping when I get there it will be better and the week will fly by!

I do have some bad news, I broke a tooth last night so now I have to fit a dentist visit in this week. What is even worse is I have to fit in a dentist bill. What a time to have a big unexpected bill like that! I am going to tell him if it is too much to just pull the tooth, I just can't afford it!

Well I have to get some laundry done, have a great week! Here is a picture of our first snowfall! Enjoy!

Happy December!

Happy first of December! I was off today so I got a lot done. Outside there were snow flurries and inside there was Christmas music and Christmas decorating. I love it! I am almost done decorating but still have some things to do. I will just work on it a little each night. I do have my tree up and my lighted garland up so I can just have that as my light at night when I am watching TV, it is so pretty.

Thanksgiving was so wonderful. My brother Jon, fiance Judy and the two boys Ian and Ivan were here. We had a wonderful dinner and then we went through the ads, made wedding plans, played games and just enjoyed everyone. I had to work Friday but they were still here so I went out after work and we had pizza and played more games and laughed some more. I was truly thankful that we were all together. The only thing better would have been if my other brother and his family were there but that will happen at Christmas and at the wedding. That will be so much fun!

Well I am going to get back to doing some decorating. Have a wonderful and blessed week!

Thanksgiving Week

Well it is the Monday before Thanksgiving and I am sure people are very busy finalizing plans, getting shopping done and getting ready to cook, me? Nope I just go and eat and then help clean up. I have to work everyday and also on Friday. I am the only one in the family that has to go to work on that Friday every year so it is kind of a bummer but I have the weekend off so maybe some of the family will stay at least part of Saturday, if not I will ahve to get all my loving, laughs and stuff in on Thursday.

I have posted on my Simple Woman's Daybook, please come on over and take a gander! LOL Have a blessed day!

Going to the Chapel of Love

Well it is really going to happen. My brother and fiance are going to get married on December 31st at 1pm. They were talking about going to Vegas, just them and the boys and I really want to be there so I wrote them an email and said I really don't want to butt in but how bout you get married at the Chapel of Love at the Mall of America? they still do everything so there isn't the stress of planning everything and it would be a lot cheaper than Vegas and also then the family could celebrate with them. Well being a man like my brother is he didn't even know there was a Chapel there so they called it and set it up. It will be a Christian ceremony and also one that will include the boys. After the ceremony we are all going out to eat and then we are all staying at a hotel together. It will be an awesome way to celebrate the New Year with new members of the family. Once they are married Jon can start the process of adopting the boys so that will be even more celebrating. I am just so happy that we can all celebrate together. I actually think Jon and Judy are excited too they just didn't look into it very well. Now my family is calling me the wedding planner! LOL

OK the cold weather is here so I am ready for some snow! We have all of the Christmas stuff out at the store, it is almost Thanksgiving and I am ready to get in the mood! There was a big snow storm just an hour away from us yesterday but we didn't even get a flake...so bring it on!

That is about it for today. Come back tomorrow and check out my Simple Woman's Daybook. See you there!

Wonderful Wednesday

I think the best part of Wednesday nights is that there are only two more days of work left and then the weekend. I can handle anything for two days! LOL I really don't have any plans for the weekend but just having two days off in a row is really a nice feeling. It has been three weeks since I have had the whole weekend at home so that is a good thing.

Well it is coming...IT being winter. I know it is Minnesota and it is the middle of November but we have been so spoiled this year with such beautiful fall weather that winter weather is going to be a shock to the system. Tomorrow the highs are in the low 50/s, Friday the mid 40's, Saturday the low 40's and then the beginning of next week the highs are suppose to be in the 30's. I guess I will have to turn my heat on!

Tonight I watched Survivor and then the CMA awards. I really don't know a lot of these new country people, a lot of them really don't seem country to me but it was something to have on while I was on the computer.

OK I am off to bed, have a wonderful rest of the week my friends!

November??

I can not believe that it is November already! I have up my Thanksgiving decorations and we (family) have already started to make plans to be together for the day. I just love that! The weather is still pretty nice here. The temps have been in the mid to high 50's and it is really all bonus days. I haven't even had to turn my heat on yet so that is bonus savings for me too.

My cousin Heidi's wedding was beautiful and everyone had so much fun, especially my nephews. Here is a picture of me and my Heidi Ann, love her!
Well that is about it for now, I will be back soon, I hope! Be blessed!

SeptOberfest...

Say what??? Well that is the name my town came up with to celebrate our German heritage and also the fall season it runs from the middle of September to the end of October so they put the two months together. This is the last weekend and I will be out of town so I decided to share some pictures of what it is all about.
Under the bridge is our park and that is where the Pumpkin patch is and where most of the activities take place.

Every entrance into town...(4 of them) has a decorated scene like this.

The big thing is the topiary contest and these are some of the entries this year...love the ladybug!
 Bumble Bee
 Puppy Dog
The businesses and private houses also decorate, this is the private school in town, they are the Yellowjackets
 The bank display

State Farm Insurance

More decorations under the bridge park.
There are also pumpkin races where kids put wheels on pumpkins and have a derby
.
And of course you can get taken around town in style to see all the fun things on a horse and carriage ride.
Each weekend there are special events like the German parade, Polka music under the bridge, pumpkin carving contests, pet shows and much more. Just thought you might like to see a little of my little town at it's best.

THings do get better....

Things do get better, that is what I keep telling myself. Thank you for the comments and the "hugs" I appreciate your friendships! A lot of different things have been going on in my life lately and I guess it just all came to a head this last week. It has been tough but with God's help I will get through it. I know I have people praying for me and that helps.

Today is Saturday and I have this weekend off. I slept in really late and then I didn't do much else. I watched a movie on TV, did some laundry and spent time on the computer. Tomorrow after church I will go out to mom and dad's and do some things for them. Next Friday is my cousin's wedding in Milwaukee so I have Thursday through Sunday off so that will be really good. It will be nice to be surrounded by my family's love.

I think our nice fall weather is over, it was so nice while it lasted but it is now looking like the highs this next week are only going to be in the 50's I guess it is time but we got a little spoiled. I am going to hold out as long as I can turning the heat on because it si so expensive. We will see how long I last. Probably not too long.

Well I am off to bed, have a great Sunday everyone.

Blahhh

I am sitting here at the computer and I am just feeling such a sadness, a loneliness and feeling like I just want to cry. I sometimes feel this way, so alone just wanting someone to share a laugh with or get a hug from. When my mom was sick and in the hospital I realized how much I depend on her. She is always there for me, she is not only my mom but my bet friend, my only friend. What am I going to do if I ever lose her? I know I will but it just hit home because I was so close to losing her twice in the last month. I have been so tired this week, and just kinda down...I am trying to get out of it and with God's help I will.
Just wanted to share where I was today. Hopefully it will all be better tomorrow!

It's Over

Well I had to let it sink in awhile but the baseball season is over. The big bad yankees beat my Twins in three games. It was really sad because we just didn't play like we had any confidence at all. I guess I can be glad we made it that far but it is just sad that the last three times we made it to the playoffs we meet the Yankees and they destroy us. Ho Hum! Now I am rooting for whoever can beat the Yankees!

Today was a good day. I felt a little better (I have a cold) so I went out to mom and dad's. My brother brought the two boys down to see mom and she was in her glory. I think that is the best medicine she has had in a long time, seeing two of her grandkids. They stayed for a couple of hours, got lots of hugs and kisses and then we all went home. It was a nice day.

I am pretty tired so I am going to bed early. Just wanted to update a little bit here. Make sure you check out my Daybook tomorrow. Have a blessed week!

Go Twins!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I had a very lazy day today. I didn't sleep in too late, I was up by 9 so that was ok. I did some cleaning and laundry and then did some reading. I just lazed around this afternoon and then I took my mom and dad out some supper and ate with them and now I am home. I am looking forward to tonight! First of all I hav to watch Survivor but I am really lucky because my beloved Minnesota Twins are in the playoffs and that starts tonight also, the only bad thing is that we have to play the dreaded Yankees again, I really really do NOT like the Yankees! So anyway GO TWINS!!
Back to work tomorrow. The weather is just beautiful, we are having our Indian summer. Too bad there have to be so many of those Asian beetles flying around, ICK!! Well I gotta go get ready to watch my Twins WIn!! Have a great night everyone!

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Happy Tuesday everyone! It is 10:30 at night but I have off tomorrow so I get to be a night owl like I love! I love being up late and then also sleeping in late and that is exactly the plan for tomorrow. I am calling tomorrow a "Cindi Day". I am not going to get up with an alarm, I don't ahve to go to the hospital and I don't have to work. I am going to do some things that have been neglected around my apartment and also just be home.

My mom came home from the hospital today and we are all so thankful. Thank you to everyone who kept her in your prayers! One thing I feel really bad that she has to go through is that she has to get her antibiotic IV's at the hospital here in our town twice a day. She has to be there at 8 am and 8pm. It takes 1 and a half to 2 hours each time so I think that is going to be very tiring for an older person that has just gone through all she has gone through. We will help as much as we can and leave it in God's hands.

Well I am off to go to bed, read a book and sleep in late tomorrow morning! I will probably be up at the regular time, just watch! LOL Have a great night!

Happiest of Monday's everyone! Please come on over to my Simple Woman's Daybook and catch today's post! Hopefully I will have more posting time this week! Until then be blessed my friends!

October Already!

Good morning world! It is October, it is so hard to believe that it is already October. This is the beginning of my favorite couple of months of the year! I love the weather that October brings! I love looking outside and watching the leaves turn their beautiful colors. I love the crispness that begins to seep into the breezes and the sound of leaves as you walk through them on the ground. I also love watching the leaves dancing through the air on windy days. In November it is so fun to cuddle up in blankets with a good book when it is so chilly outside. Drinking hot chocolate the warms you all the way down and enjoying the smell and taste of homemade soups. Of course then there is Thanksgiving that is such a special time to take stock of all the Blessings that God has given us, little and small and be thankful! It is also the start of special family time with Thanksgiving and Christmas! Oh yes this is a very favorite time of year for me!

My mom continues to be in the hospital. I talked to her tonight on the phone and she sounds a lot better, stronger and really ready to be home. I will be going to see her tomorrow and probably on Sunday too.

Have a great day everyone! Be blessed and know you are loved!

It has been awhile since I have been here, I feel bad I even missed my Simple Woman's Daybook, still might do it, not sure. My mom went to her check-up in Rochester on Monday and they decided to open her up again because of infection. She is still in the hospital and probably will be for a couple more days. I was there Monday and yesterday but today I had to go back to work. I wish they could figure out the plan of action and get on with it so she can come home, it gets frustrating sometimes and it is also scary. We are praying they figure out what kind of infection it is and be able to treat it so she can be at home.

It has been a beautiful fall week this week and thankfully we haven't had anymore rain. the Mississippi River here in town still has not crested and we have minor flooding but it is nothing like some places.

Hopefully I will be back soon with some good news, God is good and I know He will take care of us all!

Life is so short....

You never know when your life will be changed forever, you never know when you will lose someone you love dearly. Live each day to the fullest, celebrate the smallest things that make you happy. Hug your loved ones every single day and let them know you love them and think they are so special.
Yesterday my small community had quite a shock when two of our high school juniors were involved in a deadly crash. The boy died and the girl is at Mayo with very serious head trauma. I am praying for both of these families, I am sure they never thought yesterday morning that their day would end as it did, life is short, live it to the fullest.
RIP Cole and Emily may God be with you and give you strength to fight this battle.
Give your kids, no matter what age an extra hug tonight! Love you Matthew, Michelle, Logan Ian and Ivan!
