Simple Woman's Daybook...Feb 10, 2015

Outside my window....It is actually snowing lightly right now but it isn't suppose to amount to much...Hopefully that is true as I go to the Twin Cities tomorrow morning.

I am thinking...about Isaiah's birthday party on Sunday...I have some special things I am doing and making for it.

I am thankful...that we have been able to be so involved in all of my nephews and my niece's life. It is great celebrating all of these milestones with them.

In the kitchen...my poor kitchen is not being used...maybe I should change this one to "in my microwave". LOL

I am wearing...my flannel pajama pants and a sweatshirt...it was that kind of day today.

I am creating...I am making a banner for the birthday party and also some cupcake toppers. Also getting ready to stitch some Easter things.

I am going...Off in the morning to spend two days babysitting,,,so excited!

I am wondering...If Isaiah will be feeling better, sure hope so! Also wondering how the roads will be in the morning.

I am reading...another Amish series by Wanda Brunstetter

I am hoping...wow that is such a hard one...I hope that my family continues to be in good health, I am hoping that that my friends are happy and healthy and I am hoping for love for everyone.

I am looking forward to...Isaiah's second birthday party on Sunday

I am learning...that spending more time alone makes spending time with family and friends so much more special.

Around the house...taking down and putting away all my snowmen...getting ready to put up Easter decor.

A favorite Quote ...perfect for Valentine's day and every day.

One of my favorite things...getting little surprises from people and also giving them.

A peek into my day....the sunrise this morning with the Wabasha bridge in front...I love where I live!
Have a great week! Love you all!

Valentine Swap and Catch-up

Happy Saturday everyone. It was such a beautiful day today. We had a temp of 40 degrees and the sun even peeked out for a hour or two. Sadly we have still not gotten anymore snow after the "big" storm of 3 inches last week. Poor people on the east coast are going to get hit again. I don't know why I like snow but it is just so pretty and also I don't have to go out in it.

Last night I went to my nephew's One Act play and he did such a good job. I was really impressed. Even though I babysit 2-3 times a week I never see him because he always has afterschool activities so it was great to see him. All the practice really paid off too. I babysat Isaiah and he still wasn't feeling the best so still a lot of snuggling. I got him those magnetic alphabet letters and he knew all of the names except for "L" I am not sure why he doesn't get that one, I think it is too hard for him to say it or something. I think that is pretty good for not even two yet...well he is close but still I was proud.

I told you that Christina Rebuilding Our Homestead, and I were going to do a Valentine swap and this week I got my package from her. I was so excited and loved everything she got me! First she made this cute doll all decked out in her red stripes. The dollie she is holding has a little heart on her dress, I just love it!

Then she got me this adorable authentic Amish baby outfit. I made a hanger right away and have it hanging on my peg shelf. Isn't it the cutest thing?
She also got me a darling Autumn mat, a cute jar full (well it used to be full) of yummy Valentine candy and a jar of apple butter.
Thank you so much Christina ! I am so glad that we reconnected. You are such a sweetie.

Well have a great rest of the weekend everyone. I am taking it easy because I tripped over the vacuum cleaner cord and landed on my knees so I am pretty bruised and sore. Thanks for stopping by, you are appreciated.

Big Day

Well it is a big day today...Super Bowl Sunday...do I care? No not really. I am a Packer fan and we got beat by Seattle in a weird game. It made me think it just wasn't suppose to be. So anyway I don't really care for either team that is playing so I am not going to pay very close attention to it. I will be watching for the commercials and the halftime show. I thought I heard somewhere that some cable company was going to give the option of fast forwarding through the game and just skip to the commercials, that is something I would like.
Happy first day of February. there are a lot of people that are getting a big snow storm in the Midwest but sadly not me...I think we got 3/4 of an inch....maybe an inch. I really was hoping we would get more. the snow cover is about 3 inches and it hasn't really been a good moisture type winter. I just hope we don't get all of our snow in March and April.
Well have a great day everyone! Enjoy whatever you are doing!
