Merriment Chain~~Day 4

Happy Friday everyone. I am trudging along trying not to be sick, getting ready for the shower and decorating a little at a time.
This decoration is neither prim nor country but it is one of my favorites. It is my 100 acre woods village. I gto this from my youngest brother the first year he had a job. He went shopping and bought it for me all himself. It is very special to me and it is one of the first things I put up every year.
Thanks for stopping by. I probably won't post again this weekend, pretty busy but I will be back either Sunday night or Monday. Enjoy your weekends everyone.

Merriment Day 3

I am such a night poster! I just got done going to all of the blogs and now I am back to post my day three. This is the shelf I did in my living room. I just LOVE snowmen! The Santa is one I got from Linda (country Pickins). I think it looks cute. I still am going to put some greens around the stuff when I can go out and cut some.
I think I am coming down with a doozy of a cold. My nose is running away from home (my face) I have a sore throat and I just can't get warm. We are having my SIL's baby shower on Sunday and people are coming from out of town on Saturday so I really don't have time to be ill. I am popping lots of vitamin C pills, drinking lots of water and trying to rest. See who needs a doctor?
Have a great one everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

Merriment Chain Day 2

This is such a good idea that Misi and Robyn had, I love that I can show off what I have done and also see what other's have done. I just LOVE this time of the year. It is really fun so join in if you can.

Today I got my tree up. It is a pre-lit tree from my brother and when it was all up I noticed that some of the lights were not working. I sat there for a long time going through each bulb, changed the fuses and even went and bought one of those things I saw on TV where you just "click it and fix it"> Well I clicked and clicked but no fix. :( I just added some lights to the ones that were working finally. So here is my tree...all lit but not decorated yet.

Merriment Day One...

I decided to join Misi and Robyn in the Merriment Chain even though I do not have a lot done yet. Day one I will share with you what I do have done and that is the outside of my little apartment. It is a little hard to see because I took it at night but I think you get the idea.
I also have all of my lights checked and the bad bulbs replaced! LOL
Hopefully tomorrow it will be a little more exciting! If you would like to join in the fun go to Misi's or Robyn's blog to get a banner and join in the fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Back from Oz...

or wherever I have been for the last couple of weeks. My sister did get diagnosed with MS and there have been a lot of trips back and forth to Mayo clinic. Tests by one doctor and then tests by a specialists and a lot      of waiting and driving. I am so thankful that we are only a hour away from Mayo because they are so good at what they do. I tried to go with her whenever I could and then when I wasn't with her I was working. Anyway we have one more appointment with a nurse to train her how to do her injections and she has to do the first one there and be watched for awhile to make sure everything is ok. Her attitude is really good and she also has good support from family and friends.

Now on to the fun things. First of all please forgive me for being so far behind again in my thank yous! First of all I was in the Thanks for giving swap that Wendy hosted way back when...I had the wonderful swap girl herself Amy from Bumble Bee Lane. I have written and thanked Amy for the things that she gave me but I did want to also share with you all what I was so lucky to receive! First of all Amy made me this cutest little apron and in it's pocket were two prairie corn cob dolls. Love it! (Excuse the ugly wall paper..remember I rent!) ICKY!
I also got an awesome snowman, some mittens to hang on my tree, and a perfectly prim ginger!
Thank you so much Amy, you know how much I love everything! Thank you also for the special caring you have shown me!

I was also a part of Amy's and Marie's ornaments swaps. Here is a picture of the cute ornaments I got.
A beautiful burlap stocking from Michelle at Simple Pleasures, A cute angel from Marie  Which was the first thing I put on my new prim tree, a  snowman head to add to my collection from Tammy from A Primitive Place and some darling beeswax boots that did not have a name on them but I love them and thank you to the maker! Would love to know who did them! Thank you all again! It is going to be so great to have nice ornaments on my tree.

Well that is all I have for now! Thank you for all of the good thoughts and prayers for my sister. We all appreciate it so much! I have missed you all and hope to get reading your blogs regularly again!

Long Overdue Thanks...

Hello everyone. I am so sorry that I have neglected updating my blog. It has been a busy, emotional and stressful couple of weeks. I have taken my sister to Mayo for numerous tests. Monday we will see the neurologist and get a diagnosis. If it is MS which all signs are pointing to then we think the neurologist will recommend a MS specialist for her...recommend is not that word I am looking for but I just can't think of the right word. Please continue to pray for her. She is having some hard times with this.
One thing that we have been doing is spending some fun times together. I have tried to plan something each weekend to do with her so she has some fun things to look forward to doing instead of just seeing more clinic appointments in the coming days. On Friday we are going to the Canterbury Craft Show. I have never been there so I am pretty excited. I hope I can find some neat prim things to buy.
OK now to the long overdue part of this post. I was very blessed to be picked a winner from Brenda's big giveaway she had. I actually one this snowman that Brenda made...isn't he adorable?
Brenda's blog is The Rusty Thimble. If you haven't been there go check it out. She is a wonderful craftswoman and also very generous. She has at least a giveaway a month. Her etsy shop is also full of cuteness. Thanks again Brenda for all the happiness and generosity you spread around blogland and especially thank you for the great snowman!

Well ladies I am working on some things and if anything turns out I will be back to share. Have a wonderful loved filled week! Be blessed,
