The Little Things

Happy Friday everyone. I pray that you all had a fantastic week and are now able to enjoy a great weekend. I have had quite a week. On Tuesday I had to go to Mayo Clinic to meet with an urologist about my kidney stone and get some tests taken. he said that I could have the procedure done on Wednesday. So we got up early Wednesday morning and I got my procedure done at about 10. When I got back to the room I was really hurting. When the doctor came in he said that they had do a lot of prodding so there was a lot of swelling so they had to put a stent back in. I was suppose to keep it in until Monday. I left the hospital about 2 and we drove home and I was still hurting and did not sleep at all Tuesday night. Wednesday I got up and had some bleeding and pain. On Thursday I called the hospital and told them what was going on and they said that more than likely the stent had slipped out of place and so that was the problem, they told me to just go ahead and take it out. Thank God that is what the problem was. Although I still had some discomfort it was a lot better.  I went to work a half day today and I felt pretty good there too so I think I can say that I am finally done with my kidney stone! Yay!!

On Monday I was out and about and I just had to get some lilacs to bring inside. they are so pretty and I love the way they smell. I put them in a little mason jar, too cute! I only wish they would last longer.
Wednesday afternoon when I got home from the hospital I got a delivery from the Blossom shop. I was so excited. My Godparents sent me this arrangement to get well soon. It is so springy looking.
It is the little things that mean the most to me and that I enjoy. Like the smell of lilacs in the spring. Like family showing how much they love and support me.

This weekend is going to be a busy one. Tomorrow I am going to a family wedding shower and then on Sunday we are celebrating my niece's and SIL's birthdays. It will be a lot of fun. Have a great weekend friends and remember to enjoy the little things! Be blessed!

Tuesday's Display Chain

Mary Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow?  That is the theme this week. It is with bittersweet feelings that I am posting this today because it is the last display chain that Misi is hosting. It is only my second time joining in but I have enjoyed being a part of it, if only for a little amount of time.  So thank you Misi for hosting this, it will be missed.
OK here in Minnesota gardens have not been put in yet. We still may have frosts and freezes in April and into May. Gotta love the North! Also as I mentioned in last weeks post I live in an apartment so I really don't have a garden per say but I do have a place in front with rocks and that is where I put my canisters with flowers in.
We had very odd weather this March in which we got quite a few warm days in the 60's and 70's. I got antsy and did a little decorating in my "garden". Here is what it looks like now.
Here are pictures from previous years when I have my flowers planted.

I really can't wait to get all of my flowers planted this year, maybe two to three more weeks.
Have a great day everyone! Thanks for stopping by! Be blessed

Sweet Liberty Swap Package.

Happy Friday everyone. I hope you all have a great weekend.  Here in Minnesota it is suppose to rain tomorrow, which I guess is good because we need rain but I wish it could be nice on Saturdays. I think as of now it is suppose to be nice Sunday so that is good.

I was in the Sweet Liberty Swap that Amy from Bumble Bee Lane hosted and I was paired with Allison form Sew Many Girls. I was so excited to come home from work and see a package sitting on my stoop.

Here is a picture of everything. Allison was so generous.
She made me this mat and napkins, love the material and they are already on my kitchen table. I also got a cute bag that she made and filled with some great smelling mulled cider pips she got from Char at Pickled Pepper Patch.
I also got this beautiful stitchery that Allison made, love it!

I got these firecrackers and firecracker clothes pins that she made and a bear that she put firecrackers in her hand and a bow on her head. So cute.
I also got this star box that Allison decoupaged and painted

And this darling box.

Thanks again Allison for everything! It was great being your swap partner. It was the first one I ever participated in and I loved it.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Be blessed!

Tuesday's Display Chain.

Misi is hosting another display chain and I really wanted to join in. Her theme this week was
a crafting or decorating secret exposed. Now I do not create the beautiful crafts that the pther talented ladies do, no etsy store to sell from but I do love buying from them and really as much as I would like I am just not too creative. I do love to decorate and I live in an apartment so I thought I would share a couple of decorating secrets I use.
First of all I am a nature lover so I love to bring the outside in. I take a lot of nature photographs and love to print them out and use as art for my walls. I also love decorating with things I find outside. Here are some branches I used at for Valentine's
And also some more branches I used for my Easter tree.
In the fall I love getting dead weeds and putting them in my crock to make a nice display also, don't have a picture of that.

Also when you live in an apartment you have those nice white walls and landlords that don't want you to paint. There are usually some really big walls that would need a lot of  pictures and shelves to fill up. One trick I like to do is find a nice sized painting at a thrift store and then cover the painting with a nice fabric, paint out the frame and tah dah, instant cheap wall fillers!

I know it isn't much but that is all I have for today.
Have a great week and as always, Be blessed!

Shopping treasures and update.

Hello everyone. I thought I better get here and do an update as it has been awhile. The Saturday before Easter my sister and I went shopping I found some things at Goodwill that I wanted to share with you.

I got these blocks that say this on one side and on the other side say friends faith and family.
Then I got these cute things, had to put my cinnamon rose hips in them. The bowl is wooden and the glas jar has an insert that you can put a tealight candle in it but I just put the rosehips in it and then tied some homespun fabric around it, I love the handle.
Then we went to another store called the Treehouse and I got this shelf. Here it is before I tweaked it.
And here it is after I tweaked it, I really like it a lot!

It was a great day of shopping and it was just a great time being with my sister and doing something fun.

Saturday night I started having severe pain in my back and shooting around to the front. It kept getting worse and worse to the point where I could hardly stand it so I called my parents to see if they could take me to the ER. After five extremely painful hours there they did a CT scan and found out I had an extremely large kidney stone. It was 9mm and the doctor said there was no way I could pass it on my own. Being a small town hospital we don't have an Urologist on staff so I had to go to Mayo in Rochester by ambulance. I got there and then waited in the ER there for about 3 hours and then finally got admitted to a room and wouldn't see the urologist until Monday. So I spent my Easter laying alone in a hospital bed. I told my family to just go ahead and celebrate.  On Monday morning they did a procedure to try and blast it apart but they could not get the laser up far enough so they put a stint in my tube to stretch it and I have to go back in two weeks and hopefully they can blast it then. I am on pain pills and uncomfortable. I tell you after just getting out of the hospital in August after being in there for 7 months it was all a little too scary for me.Thankfully I got out Monday afternoon and the procedure I have is out patient. I really can't wait to be pain free.

Well I guess that is about it for now. I have my first swap package all ready to mail tomorrow. It is from Amy's Sweet Liberty Swap, I can't wait until my partner gets it, I sure hope she likes everything. I love being in swaps!

Have a great week everyone!
Be blessed!

A new start

I can't believe it is April! I am amazed how fast March went. The weather was so nice and warm so I think that helped a lot! I kept waiting for one last snowfall but it never came! It is kinda chilly now, well actually it is normal temps but we have been above normal for so long that now it feels chilly.

Today I started back part time at the Pharmacy again. It is amazing what a year can do. I left my job there last January to have a little surgery and now 16 months later, after being in the hospital for seven months I am back working, well working part time. I am still not able to do full time but at least I am getting back a little bit. I am so excited to be able to see my old customers. I got so many well wishes, cards and prayers from them through everything so it will be great to see them. I am also excited to be able to just get out of the house and having something to get up for, at least two days a week. I will still be going to the hospital three times a week for my therapy and to workout so it will work really well.

I can't help but think about where I was a year ago. I was still in ICU, not able to walk or hardly lift my arms.  I remember that last Resurrection Sunday I had another set back. My mom, dad, sister, brother, sister in law and nephews were there and they had brought me food from a restaurant. I couldn't even eat it because I was so sick. I can't remember for sure but I think I had gotten another infection and my wound still was not healing. Now I am going back to work part time. It has been a lot of hard work and there have been many days when I didn't think I would ever be able to do this so I am pretty proud and happy that I am able to go back.

Tomorrow I have to work a full day, 8:30 -5:30 so I better get to bed. I want to thank all of you for your prayers and support! Even though I haven't met a lot of you face to face you are so very special to me!

Have a very blessed day and Easter!
