E is for Eagle Center.

I had a bridal shower yesterday so I had to put off my E post until today. I live in Wabasha Minnesota. If you have seen the Grumpy Old Men movies Wabasha is where they wet set, although none of it was filmed here. Our biggest attraction is the National Eagle Center.
It is on the shores of the Mississippi River and was built  in 2007. We have 4 resident eagles that live here year round and some are used for education and and promotional purposes.
Harriet was our first eagle ambassador. She now spends most of her days visiting VA hospitals if she goes anywhere. She is our most famous eagle...she has been on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and also on the Today show. Her likeness is used on our eagle license plates.

And Donald who is a Golden Eagle...so handsome.

There is a lot to see at the center  and it is very educational. There is a life sized model of an eagle's nest, there are sculptures, paintings and also educational programs where they give you all the information about eagles and even bring one in to take pictures with.

There is an observation deck where you can possibly spot wild eagles gliding along the Mississippi River or perched in the trees along the shores. And sometimes you can even see the eagles when they are enjoying the outside weather.
It is really a great place to visit and learn about so much Here is the link if you would like to learn more. National Eagle Center. I got some pictures from there and also some I have taken and also some of the information from there. Thanks for visiting.

What a great post! I love eagles. No matter how they pose, whether they have their wings spread or not, they are truly majestic. Hugs, Maggie
