Whole Lotta Love....Why Blog?

Hello friends. The other day Betty from Through My Backdoor posed the question  why blog? I had to giggle when I read that because I have asked myself that so many times..."why do I continue to blog?" I sometimes wonder if I am fooling myself thinking that I have something to share, something people will find interesting, something that is good enough for others. In my adult life I became pretty lonely. After I got out of a 7 and a half month hospital stay and couldn't work I found myself so alone. I have never been one to have friends, not sure why, and not being able to work I was so lonely. I started this blog as a way to "be out there." I found the prim community and just was so amazed at how much you all seemed to get along. I read different blogs for quite awhile before I followed anyone...sneaky aren't I? I would read how some people would get some RAK's in the mail, I would read about the swaps and the giveaways. I would read how you all would pray for each other and it just seemed so neat. I wanted to be "one of you." I didn't know how to be "one of you." I surely loved the prim decorating style but I couldn't make anything to share on my blog, heck I couldn't even share any pictures of any prim gatherings or objects I had, so I read some more until I finally got the courage to start following some blogs. I think I became a follower of about 10 blogs the first night. I would do some blog posts but mostly about non prim things that I had decorated with. I would blog about my life but still wanting to be a part of the prim is in group. Amy from Bumble Bee Lane was the first to start following me and commenting, the I won a cute giveaway from Kendra and got more people following me and commenting, then I got to do my first "Amy" swap and then I joined in on Misi's Tuesday Display Chain. I really felt like a part of the Prim community. I would visit your blogs and get inspiration, dream of having half the things others do and leave comments. I came to care so much about you all, the loneliness is not so bad as it was and I really feel like I have made some good friends. I feel like I am contributing to the community by offering support and prayers when I can, commenting, doing swaps and also some RAK's.  So even though my blog posts are not really "prim" and not really that interesting I blog because I feel a part of a greater whole. I feel friendship. I feel support and sometimes I feel needed and feel like I just may be making someone's day. Now that was a way long answer for a two word question wasn't it? LOL

Whole Lotta Love....

Beginning on Friday Feb 1st I am going to be doing a chain on my blog called, well obviously , Whole Lotta Love. I will be doing a post each day about something I love. It could be a person, a collection, a pin, whatever moves me on a given day. I would be honored if you would like to join in on this. I really hope it isn't copying Misi and Robin's idea, they were my inspiration. Anyway if you would like to join in you can feel free to use the banner this non artistic person made. Just thought it might be fun.

Thank you all for everything you have brought into my life! Be blessed!
Cindi

Well, I enjoyed your answer. It is a great community and I am glad you have become a part of it.I think that sounds awesome and I will try my best to join in. In blogland we get ideas from one another, and no, you aren't copying anyone, just following up with an idea. Love it. I enjoy our visits.

Hi Cindi, me again!! Love this post. Applause to you...I think a lot of us followed along, reading, sneaking around until we finally decided to take the plunge! I have always been an artist but not really in the prim style. I just decided why not give it a shot. I have always admired the talent of these wonderful prim bloggers and thought maybe I could do it too!
I would love to join in on your chain. I will try to keep up as much as possible:) These chains seem like the only way to get me to post..lol!
Blessings

Well I'm glad you blog! You've been so sweet and friendly to chat and swap with! I began blogging for similar reasons. I have friends but we've transferred so much, I have no choice but to have "virtual" friendships. It gets very lonely sometimes but then I get to read y'all's blogs and correspond and sometimes I forget people are miles away. I love the swaps, I love mail and just getting to know folks. I wish I could meet people for coffee or a movie but friendships aren't so easy to come by as one might think. Anyhow, I'll try to remember Fridays and your chain which will be a great way to kick off the weekend! Take care!

In looking for friendship, you have blessed us with your friendship that is so important to this "community". Thank you for becoming a follower of my blog. I am the one honored.

Love and HUUUUUGGGGGGGEEEEE hugs to you, dear! Your words touched my heart!

Hello Cindi,
I'm a new follower, yet I've read your blog often times.
Loved your answer to Betty's question as it is a reflection of what I would have answered had I done so. I stopped working outside the home a few years ago and one day while poking around on the web I discovered "blogs" which I knew nothing about. Like you I "secretly" read several that became my favorites, now and again. I was lonely too, don't have a "prim" filled house but more of a mix of treasures. Anyway, after some time I got the courage to start a blog and four years later here I am. We are all kindred souls sharing our lives, interests, and prayers for one another and I am grateful for each and every one that has become a friend though we've never personally met.
I hope you will stop by and I will visit you again soon.
Blessings~
