Merriment Chain Day 2

This is such a good idea that Misi and Robyn had, I love that I can show off what I have done and also see what other's have done. I just LOVE this time of the year. It is really fun so join in if you can.

Today I got my tree up. It is a pre-lit tree from my brother and when it was all up I noticed that some of the lights were not working. I sat there for a long time going through each bulb, changed the fuses and even went and bought one of those things I saw on TV where you just "click it and fix it"> Well I clicked and clicked but no fix. :( I just added some lights to the ones that were working finally. So here is my tree...all lit but not decorated yet.

Merriment Day One...

I decided to join Misi and Robyn in the Merriment Chain even though I do not have a lot done yet. Day one I will share with you what I do have done and that is the outside of my little apartment. It is a little hard to see because I took it at night but I think you get the idea.
I also have all of my lights checked and the bad bulbs replaced! LOL
Hopefully tomorrow it will be a little more exciting! If you would like to join in the fun go to Misi's or Robyn's blog to get a banner and join in the fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Back from Oz...

or wherever I have been for the last couple of weeks. My sister did get diagnosed with MS and there have been a lot of trips back and forth to Mayo clinic. Tests by one doctor and then tests by a specialists and a lot      of waiting and driving. I am so thankful that we are only a hour away from Mayo because they are so good at what they do. I tried to go with her whenever I could and then when I wasn't with her I was working. Anyway we have one more appointment with a nurse to train her how to do her injections and she has to do the first one there and be watched for awhile to make sure everything is ok. Her attitude is really good and she also has good support from family and friends.

Now on to the fun things. First of all please forgive me for being so far behind again in my thank yous! First of all I was in the Thanks for giving swap that Wendy hosted way back when...I had the wonderful swap girl herself Amy from Bumble Bee Lane. I have written and thanked Amy for the things that she gave me but I did want to also share with you all what I was so lucky to receive! First of all Amy made me this cutest little apron and in it's pocket were two prairie corn cob dolls. Love it! (Excuse the ugly wall paper..remember I rent!) ICKY!
I also got an awesome snowman, some mittens to hang on my tree, and a perfectly prim ginger!
Thank you so much Amy, you know how much I love everything! Thank you also for the special caring you have shown me!

I was also a part of Amy's and Marie's ornaments swaps. Here is a picture of the cute ornaments I got.
A beautiful burlap stocking from Michelle at Simple Pleasures, A cute angel from Marie  Which was the first thing I put on my new prim tree, a  snowman head to add to my collection from Tammy from A Primitive Place and some darling beeswax boots that did not have a name on them but I love them and thank you to the maker! Would love to know who did them! Thank you all again! It is going to be so great to have nice ornaments on my tree.

Well that is all I have for now! Thank you for all of the good thoughts and prayers for my sister. We all appreciate it so much! I have missed you all and hope to get reading your blogs regularly again!

Long Overdue Thanks...

Hello everyone. I am so sorry that I have neglected updating my blog. It has been a busy, emotional and stressful couple of weeks. I have taken my sister to Mayo for numerous tests. Monday we will see the neurologist and get a diagnosis. If it is MS which all signs are pointing to then we think the neurologist will recommend a MS specialist for her...recommend is not that word I am looking for but I just can't think of the right word. Please continue to pray for her. She is having some hard times with this.
One thing that we have been doing is spending some fun times together. I have tried to plan something each weekend to do with her so she has some fun things to look forward to doing instead of just seeing more clinic appointments in the coming days. On Friday we are going to the Canterbury Craft Show. I have never been there so I am pretty excited. I hope I can find some neat prim things to buy.
OK now to the long overdue part of this post. I was very blessed to be picked a winner from Brenda's big giveaway she had. I actually one this snowman that Brenda made...isn't he adorable?
Brenda's blog is The Rusty Thimble. If you haven't been there go check it out. She is a wonderful craftswoman and also very generous. She has at least a giveaway a month. Her etsy shop is also full of cuteness. Thanks again Brenda for all the happiness and generosity you spread around blogland and especially thank you for the great snowman!

Well ladies I am working on some things and if anything turns out I will be back to share. Have a wonderful loved filled week! Be blessed,

I am back....

Hello everyone! Boy it has been a long while that I have been absent from my little blog. My sister has not been feeling well and she finally had a MRI, the news was not good. The person that read the MRI and also the GP doctor both thought it looked like MS after other things were proven wrong. She has to go to a neurologist at Mayo Clinic a week from Monday so we have all been praying hard for the best results as possible. My family has kinda closed in around my sister and I have had little time to come here. Please keep her in your prayers. She is not only my sister but my best friend.
Yesterday I spent the day with my sister. We went shopping for the baby shower we are hosting for my SIL. We got a lot done and it was a fun sister day. We also had time to talk and cry a little together too. Before we left the very foggy morning we went down by the river because the paddle boat American Queen was docked in our town for the day. Here is some pictures of it that I took.

Then as it was leaving town about 5pm I went down to the old beach and got a picture of her going up river.
Today was a beautiful sunny, warm fall day. I am not sure how many of these kinds of days we have left so I went out and took some pictures. I went back down by the river and saw an eagle in the tree...I tried to get some good pictures of him but he was pretty well hidden, still kinda neat to be that close to a beautiful bald eagle.

Can you spot him? LOL I also took some pictures of some of the pretty trees that still have some leaves left.

Have a great week everyone! Be blessed and please enjoy each day you have to the fullest.

Tuesday Display Chain...

Today I am just getting in under the wire to enter Misi's Tuesday Display Chain.  This week's theme is See It, Do It. We were to find an inspiration on Pinterest and then actually follow through and and use the idea to create the idea into our own thing. Now for me that is the hardest, following through and actually doing something with all of the ideas I have pinned so this was a perfect theme for me.

My mom is again having Thanksgiving this year but now that I am not in the hospital and also I have healed enough that I can help with the day that is exactly what I am going to do. I found these cute turkeys on Pinterest that originally came from  the blog Binge Crafter. Here is her picture.
Looking at the more carefully I am now aware that she probably used those little ice cream spoons for the heads and little wooden hearts...I of course didn't have those things so I decided to use felt. It isn't as cute as the originals but I think they turned out pretty well and I think the table will look cute with each setting having one of these. I have candy corn in this one for the picture but it could be filled with a number of different things, maybe even a napkin. We will see.
Sorry the picture is kinda blurry, not sure why. Anyway please go to Misi's blog 1890 Gablehouse Musings and check out all of the others that have joined in this week. Thanks again Misi for hosting it has been fun!

Catching up...

Hello my dear blogging friends! I can't believe it has been well over a week since I have posted. I have been busy and I also haven't felt the best so there you have my two excuses. I have been visiting your blogs though and I have been commenting also, at least trying. I have been getting pretty lax about responding to you wonderful people that leave comments on my posts so I want you to know I so appreciate it and will work to get better at that.
I am truly amazed with the great giveaway Brenda is hosting!
You girls are really so very talented. I can't believe all of the cute things that you all have made. I think it is so nice of all of you to share your talents and be so generous to contribute to the giveaway. If I don't get to say it to you all personally which I won't I want to take a second and just tell you all here and now...THANK YOU!!
Last Friday it was a beautiful fall day and my sister and I took a little trip to Wisconsin to do some Prim and antique shopping. We left home at 8:30 in the morning and the first place we stopped was The Marketplace in Tomah WI.

I took these pictures of the cute outside but I was too busy looking at all of the cute things inside to take any pictures. This shop is in a beautiful old 2 story house and it is filled to the brim with a lot of awesomeness. They are having their holiday open house on Nov. 9th-Nov.18th. If you are anywhere near there I suggest taking it in...it is great! Here is the website The Market Place.

We then went to Montello and had lunch at a cute and yummy sandwich shop. Kendra from Stone House Primitives has her stone house near there so I had asked her about some places to go and she helped me out. Thanks Kendra! Anyway here is my sister and I by the waterfalls in Montello, it was windy.

Here is the falls, they are so pretty and right in the middle of town..too cool.

We then went to Princeton I think that was the name and stopped at quite a few antique stores. The was fun and I got a couple of old cookie cutters and a oh so neat old crate. Here is the crate I got and also I got the cute light on top of it.

I also got a neat galvanized pail but it is outside with a mum plant in it so no pictures. My sister got a few things also. Then we went to Ripon and hit a prim store there that Kendra had told me about called A Simpler Time. Again it is in a beautiful stone building and filled with everything prim. Both my sister and I spent money there too. We were going to try to make it to Lodi and visit a shop called Cottage House Primitives but by the time we would have gotten there it would have been too late. Next time for sure though.

The colors were awesome so I took a couple of pictures, from the car while my sister was whizzing by! LOL

We got to LaCrosse WI and had supper and then decided to go to the party store because our SIL had called us during the trip to tell us that baby was going to be a boy. We were all kinda hoping for a girl but feel very blessed that we are having a baby after all this time and that he looks really healthy. So anyway we stopped and got some ideas and things for the baby shower we are having in December for her. That was a lot of fun. We got home that night at 8:30 so it was a long day but oh so much fun.

The next day my brother had his class reunion so the family came to stay at Grandpa and Grandma's. Here are Jon and Judy before they left. My brother is so excited, he is a first time daddy.

I also got a beuriful picture of the harvest moon that night right from my mom and dad's deck.
So there, I think I am all caught up. Thanks for staying through all of my rambles. Have a great week everyone and as always, Be blessed!
