Mid Week Musings

Hello everyone. Well January is almost at an end. It has been a weird winter this year as far as weather goes.  On Sunday we had a terrible ice storm, Monday we had some melting and then Monday night we had thunder storms...yes in January...then it refroze and schools were closed yesterday. During the day yesterday it did get to above freezing so there was some more melting and now we are getting some snow and the temps are falling to below zero again tonight and highs in the single digits tomorrow. The wind has also picked up and it is blowing the snow around quite a bit. A good day to stay inside for sure. 

I got some woolie love in the mail the other day thanks to Trace from Granny Trace Scraps and Squares. I was so excited to get the lovely woolie hearts that I bought from her Etsy shop. I put them out right away so here is where I put them. Thanks so much Trace, love your work and your encouragement.

Well in two days I will be starting my "Whole Lotta Love" chain. I have had some questions about the rules and the rules are that there aren't any rules. LOL I will tell you what I am going to do and if you would like to join in please feel free to do it on your blog also. Here is a new banner thingie I made...looks a lot better I think.

OK here is what I am going to do...each day I am going to do a post of something that brings me a "whole lotta love" It can be a person, picture, collection, memory...whatever you want it to be. I just thought it would be a fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day.

Hello my friends. I really don't have a lot to share but just thought I would jump on and say hi to everyone. It has been so cold here. We have had wind chills in the 30's to 40's below zero and yesterday the air temp didn't even get to zero. Today we made it to 1 above zero! A warm up! LOL  I had to work yesterday and I was really about my older customers. I was so hoping that they didn't come out in this weather. We have a free delivery service but most of them still like to come into the store. I have to say though that it was not very busy at all so I am happy they didn't try to go out. I love my customers.
Today I went for a ride to warm up my car and when I was down by the river there were eagles everywhere. There were tons across the river in the trees, lots on the ice and lots flying and soaring. Then I drove a little further up the rode and saw these two beauties on my side of the road so I had to take a picture, aren't they beautiful?

Last night after work I decided I needed some Valentine decorations so for the first time ever I actually made something. Here are the hearts that I hand-stitched. I was going to do them with my sewing machine my SIL gave me but I couldn't figure out how to thread it. I guess they aren't too bad for my first try.

Whole Lotta Love....Why Blog?

Hello friends. The other day Betty from Through My Backdoor posed the question  why blog? I had to giggle when I read that because I have asked myself that so many times..."why do I continue to blog?" I sometimes wonder if I am fooling myself thinking that I have something to share, something people will find interesting, something that is good enough for others. In my adult life I became pretty lonely. After I got out of a 7 and a half month hospital stay and couldn't work I found myself so alone. I have never been one to have friends, not sure why, and not being able to work I was so lonely. I started this blog as a way to "be out there." I found the prim community and just was so amazed at how much you all seemed to get along. I read different blogs for quite awhile before I followed anyone...sneaky aren't I? I would read how some people would get some RAK's in the mail, I would read about the swaps and the giveaways. I would read how you all would pray for each other and it just seemed so neat. I wanted to be "one of you." I didn't know how to be "one of you." I surely loved the prim decorating style but I couldn't make anything to share on my blog, heck I couldn't even share any pictures of any prim gatherings or objects I had, so I read some more until I finally got the courage to start following some blogs. I think I became a follower of about 10 blogs the first night. I would do some blog posts but mostly about non prim things that I had decorated with. I would blog about my life but still wanting to be a part of the prim is in group. Amy from Bumble Bee Lane was the first to start following me and commenting, the I won a cute giveaway from Kendra and got more people following me and commenting, then I got to do my first "Amy" swap and then I joined in on Misi's Tuesday Display Chain. I really felt like a part of the Prim community. I would visit your blogs and get inspiration, dream of having half the things others do and leave comments. I came to care so much about you all, the loneliness is not so bad as it was and I really feel like I have made some good friends. I feel like I am contributing to the community by offering support and prayers when I can, commenting, doing swaps and also some RAK's.  So even though my blog posts are not really "prim" and not really that interesting I blog because I feel a part of a greater whole. I feel friendship. I feel support and sometimes I feel needed and feel like I just may be making someone's day. Now that was a way long answer for a two word question wasn't it? LOL

Whole Lotta Love....

Beginning on Friday Feb 1st I am going to be doing a chain on my blog called, well obviously , Whole Lotta Love. I will be doing a post each day about something I love. It could be a person, a collection, a pin, whatever moves me on a given day. I would be honored if you would like to join in on this. I really hope it isn't copying Misi and Robin's idea, they were my inspiration. Anyway if you would like to join in you can feel free to use the banner this non artistic person made. Just thought it might be fun.

Over Due Thank Yous!

Hello everyone...I am sorry it has taken me so long to get to these but I tell you the let down after the Hoildays hasn't come to me yet...I am busy busy busy. I am not complaining though because I love to keep busy. Work has been extremely busy (I work in a Pharmacy). The flu has hit our town bad and we have been filling a lot of prescriptions. I am the cashier and I have been washing my hands and sanitizing everything as often as I can to try not to get it...I am not sure but I sure am not feeling that good today. It isn't real bad so maybe it is just my busy schedule catching up with me. I am working again tomorrow so back to the keeping those germs away!

Right before Christmas I was the lucky winner of two giveaways and I am finally getting around to posting my thank yous. I am so sorry it has taken me so long.

First I won the ornament giveaway from Lori at Apple Grove Treasures. I not only got three adorable tree ornaments that she made but also two homespun candy canes and some yummy cinnamon star fillers.

 Thanks so much Lori! I love everything and they did look great on my tree!

I was also one of the lucky winners of Brenda's The Rusty Thimble snowmen giveaway. I am sure you all know how much I love snowmen and this is a darling one I get to add to my collection. Thank you Brenda!

First Day in 2013

Happy New Year to all of you my friends. It is so hard to believe that everything is pretty much done now. I had an excellent Christmas filled with a lot of fun, laughter and family time. We decided that we wanted a picture of Grandpa and Grandma and the grandkids and Grandma wanted one just of the grandkids...I had no idea how hard it would be to get those pictures.!

 Nope Logan was growling instead of smiling....

The growling now jumped to Ian....

Apparently NO ONE was ready for this one...

Grandma is tired and just wants it to all be over!

FINALLY one I think we can put in the frame!

However, this is the shot that really IS our family!
Just got one of all the grandkids...it was going to be what it was going to be....

Maybe next year!
