Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY...Jan.26, 2015

Outside my window... Today was another beautiful day here in Southern Minnesota. The temp was 43 and a lot of melting is going on...hardly any snow cover left on the ground.

I am thinking...a lot about my Godfather who is in hospice care with Alzheimers...such a sad disease.

I am thankful...I am so thankful that I am able to

Around the house...working on getting things organized, my

I am pondering...on new things to do with Isaiah

A favorite quote for today...

One of my favorite things...communicating with people

A few plans for the rest of the week: babysitting and more crafting

An Old Friend....

Hello there again blogging friends. Those of you on the East Coast I pray that you are all safe during the big snow storm!  Living in Minnesota you would think that we have a lot of snow...well we don't! Our snow cover right now is about an inch. We got quite a bit of snow in November  but now it is almost all gone. I will probably be screaming about getting too much snow in Feb and March.
So it is almost February, hard to believe! I was on Pintrest...about 20 times a day and I saw some pins from Christina Rosendall. She used to have her blog called Pendleton Primitives. Her husband retired from the service ( thank you for your time) and they moved to Michigan. She now has a new blog called Rebuilding Our Homestead. Go and give her a visit, then she will have to blog more! LOL  OK so anyway I saw her on Pintrest and I messaged her to see how things were going. We decided that since Amy wasn't going to have a Valentine swap that we would swap with each other. This is what I love about blogging. You really meet some great people and become friends with them. I am sad to see that a lot of bloggers are now going on Facebook or Twitter and their blogs are neglected, to me, those just aren't as personal as a blog. Ok I will step off of my soapbox now.
I am busy getting some things made for our swap and I am very excited. Again please go and visti Christina's blog and say hi, welcome back.
Have a great week everyone!

Happy New Year...plus 11 days. My Word for the Year

So I am a little slow getting in here and wishing you all a happy New Year... the story of my life. I have seen some of my friends participating in One Little Word and I really liked the idea of it so I have chosen my word for 2015.  it is a word to "focus on, meditate on, and reflect upon as I go about my daily life." I prayed and thought a lot about what my word should be and finally came up with the word...

I am going to embrace the word and spend more time with the Scriptures
I am going to embrace my body and health...try not to worry so much about the numbers but more on the healthy choices.
I am going to embrace the life that I have now, not trying to look behind wishing my life is what it was nor looking ahead seeking how my life should be different.
I am going to embrace change instead of shying away from it because of fear.
I am going to embrace the time I get to spend with my nephew because they grow so fast, the time I get to spend with my family because there are no better people and time with myself.

There are probably more things that will come up through the year that I will embrace but this year my goal is to do just that embrace all that comes my way.
