E is for Eagle Center.

I had a bridal shower yesterday so I had to put off my E post until today. I live in Wabasha Minnesota. If you have seen the Grumpy Old Men movies Wabasha is where they wet set, although none of it was filmed here. Our biggest attraction is the National Eagle Center.
It is on the shores of the Mississippi River and was built  in 2007. We have 4 resident eagles that live here year round and some are used for education and and promotional purposes.
Harriet was our first eagle ambassador. She now spends most of her days visiting VA hospitals if she goes anywhere. She is our most famous eagle...she has been on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and also on the Today show. Her likeness is used on our eagle license plates.

And Donald who is a Golden Eagle...so handsome.

There is a lot to see at the center  and it is very educational. There is a life sized model of an eagle's nest, there are sculptures, paintings and also educational programs where they give you all the information about eagles and even bring one in to take pictures with.

There is an observation deck where you can possibly spot wild eagles gliding along the Mississippi River or perched in the trees along the shores. And sometimes you can even see the eagles when they are enjoying the outside weather.
It is really a great place to visit and learn about so much Here is the link if you would like to learn more. National Eagle Center. I got some pictures from there and also some I have taken and also some of the information from there. Thanks for visiting.

D is for Daily....

Have you ever had the thought...day after day the same routine..nothing exciting just going through the motions? I was like that. I pretty much got up in the morning. showered, ate and went to work, put in my time there, came home, ate supper watched TV or read, went to bed and started all over again. I wasn't really happy I was just going through the motions. I wasn't very happy and I wasn't very content. This all changed in January of 2011. I went into the hospital to have surgery and because of many complications I remained in the hospital until August of 2011.  I was in a coma for 2 weeks, in ICU for 4 months and had to relearn how to chew and walk. There were so many days that I thought I would never make it out of there. There were also so many days that I thought I would never walk again but I did. With a lot of work and determination I made it out and walked again. When I got home I had lost a lot but I also gained a lot. My daily life was no longer just going through the motions. I was no longer unhappy or not content. I am now a person that Has a daily walk with God in my life and in my heart. He got me through what others may not have gotten through. My daily life is now finding joy in the little things every single day. I am happy and I am content and my days are a real gift that I am so grateful for. Again thank you for stopping by!
Be blessed...DAILY!!

C is for Clouds...

Walk with me down memory lane...it is a beautiful sunny summer day. The sky is as blue as can be, the clouds are fluffy and billowing. Walking in the yard a young girl cranes her neck to watch the clouds float through the sky. She lays down and the green grass and watches the movie the clouds are a part of...there are animals and people shapes and places all in the clouds and in the little girl's imagination. That is the first time I remember the love affair I have had with clouds my whole life.  Here are some pictures of one of my very favorite things...clouds.

Thanks for all of the comments you have all been leaving me and thanks for visiting! You all brighten my days so much! As always...BE BLESSED!

B is for Backroads

Hello Friends....When thinking about what to write for my "b" day I had many thoughts...my first was Blessings but I figured that was so broad that I was going to break it down into other letters. The Next thing I thought about was bunnies...then Boyd's bears because I have so many of those but then I came up with Backroads.  I love to get into my car and travel around the backroads. I love seeing the surprises that these less traveled roads bring and I always have my camera along to capture the things that speak to me. I hope you enjoy my backroad pictures.

A sunrise on the way to my nephew's swim meet.

This is right in my town ...a beautiful weeping willow with the river and bridge in the background

A pretty sailboat on beautiful Lake Pepin.
 A barge going up river
On a sideroad in Michigan...the beautiful great lake.
 Sunset in Mackinaw City
At a park where Kendra's Stone House is located. I was Primitive shopping.
 The Mississippi Queen Riverboat.

Eagles in a tree

Just thought this was a neat tree
An old pick-up with flowers and a flag
A beautiful doe was having a drink until I scared her away
 Cool old barn
 Amish plowing with their horses
 Amish farm and buggy

An old building  covered in snow....I almost got stuck getting this one.
Beautiful old barn

A museum that used to be in our town

Oh yes I love the backroads and will continue to travel along them waiting for the surprises they bring me.

A is for April Showers...

Betty from Through my Back Door  had a post that she was joining a challenge called the A to Z Challenge. I of course went to check it out and it is HUGE!  There are a lot of blogs signed up to write a post every day in April  except Sundays starting with a different letter each day. Wellll I am a type of blogger that needs encouragement but I am also a shy blogger so I decided to do it but not sign up. If my friends come and read that is great but I don't need to be a part of over 1200 bloggers doing it. So anyway that is the background of what I am going to TRY to do.

A is for April Showers. I love the rain. I love the sound of it pattering on my house and against my windows and I love the shine it gives to everything it clings to, I love the look of things after a shower. I even love storms, as long as they are not destructive. I love the dark clouds the billow in the sky, I love the sound of rolling thunder and the lightening that lights up the sky can be so beautiful.  One of my favorite things to do is walk in a nice warm summer shower. Yes I am a rain lover.

Here are some beautiful pictures of April showers.

Enjoy your day and come back tomorrow for my "B" post.
